We had a GREAT event in Rapid City today! We had several head-counters and the total attendance was 1,500+.
We began with a sign protest along Omaha Street and 5th Street--two of the busiest streets in Rapid City.
Then we had a program at the Bandshell in nearby Memorial Park. Gordon Howie officiated and the program kicked off with a patriotic medley by Cecillee Streetman. Speakers included Mike Howard, Brian Barber, Dawn Pence, Jesse Freeman, and Ira Taken Alive. Pastor Dale Bartscher from the South Dakota Family Policy Council closed by leading the crowd in singing â??God Bless America.â??
Many attendees made another go-around along Omaha and 5th with their signs after the program. Cars and trucks passing by were beeping their horns like mad in agreement with our message!

It was with nervous anticipation that I attended my first political rally at Memorial Park in Rapid City,SD. It was a sunless day with the constant threat of rain. Gathering along the parkway, holding our signs & waving our flags, motorists honked their support & displayed their teabags. We were fortunate in that,
there was not a hint of patchouli oil, nor oak tree droppings. Our speakers&singers were impressively splendid. One enlightening speaker dared us to see how our government kept its' promises & managed housing,,jobs, & healthcare with "go to the reservation." Finally, a heartfelt THANK YOU to my fellow patriots here & across our beloved home, who have affirmed that in these "times that try mens' souls",we are uniting & no one need stand alone.
