About the Host:

Allen Barton is a Los Angeles-based director, writer, teacher and classical pianist. He has a long time affiliation with the Beverly Hills Playhouse, one of LA's oldest and most respected acting schools, where he is currently owner/CEO and one of the principal teachers. As a director, his most recent productions include Burn This, The Last Five Years, Baja Fresh, Rabbit Hole and The Real Thing. His screenplay Real Music was a prizewinner in the CAPE New Writers Competition. As a pianist, Allen was a prizewinner in the 2002 L.A. Liszt Society piano competition, has recorded five CDs (available at iTunes), and performs regularly in Los Angeles, New York and New England. He is a graduate of Harvard College and a native of the Boston area.
