Key Lawmakers to Appear in
Citizen-Led Healthcare Forum
on PJTV.com

 LOS ANGELES (July 15, 2009) - During the lead up to the vote on the new health care bill, Pajamas TV will host policymakers, doctors, and other experts in a Virtual Forum on Healthcare at 7:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 22 that will be streamed live at www.PJTV.com. 

As part of a groundbreaking interactive series, PJTV is bringing the healthcare debate into the homes of concerned citizens and encouraging them to engage directly with lawmakers and other health care specialists through email, Twitter and YouTube.  At issue: the consequences of government-run healthcare.

 Congressional Leaders 

Featured participants in PJTV’s online forum will include House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), Congressman Tom Price (R-GA), Chairman of the House Republican Study Committee, and Congressman Dave Camp (R-MI), the top Republican member on the House Ways and Means Committee. These lawmakers will be featured along with policy experts who will discuss the new health care legislation and answer questions from online viewers.

“Pajamas TV’s online healthcare forum is a vast departure from typical inside the beltway hearings and events. This forum will offer real people the opportunity to ask tough questions of the political leaders and other experts who will help decide the future of our health care system,” said Roger L. PJTV just released a hidden camera feature that focuses on the failures of the Canadian socialized medicine system (www.pjtv.com/v/2153), hosted by PJTV entertainer Steven Crowder who grew up in Montreal and will be featured at the forum.  Crowder takes viewers behind the scenes and tells stories of:

 A woman who was forced to wait for a year for treatment of her legs, and both of them ended up being amputated.

• Government workers quietly recommending private clinics.
• How blood tests for animals are easy and quick compared to similar tests for people.
• Incessant waiting lists.

The forum will be hosted from Pajamas TV’s Washington, D.C. television studio by University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds, known throughout the blogosphere as the “Instapundit.” Pajamas TV commentators, bloggers and health care experts will participate in the forum from Pajamas TV’s main high-definition studio in Los Angeles and from studios at the Manhattan Institute in New York City and the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.

 “Conservatives are becoming more and more active online and are just beginning to realize the power and importance of social media. This hearing will be a significant milestone as members of the online community are connected directly with Capitol Hill insiders to address the weighty issue of health care,” Simon added.
