– Things suck in our world. ISIS, cancer, cappuccino-flavored Lay's potato chips, that stuff ain't right. What do you have to say for yourself, all-knowing and all-powerful all-present God? How could you let somebody do something so strange with a potato?

(rock music)

So, God is merciful and loving and all-good and have the power to be just that, then why are kids dying from leukemia? You're supposed to be all-good, God. Didn't you get the memo? Kids are being slaughtered by people who claim to be serving you. They call you Allah, though. But you're all the same God, right? To recap, God didn't allow this, Adam and Eve did. For, with the dominion they were given, they allowed corruption and death to enter the world. Why didn't God stop 'em? What, you mean intrude upon their free will? God told them what would happen. That wasn't enough. And more than that, Adam had a great job, a great healthcare plan like immortality, that's way better than Obamacare, great vacations, him and Eve could take intergalactic tours in a weekend. All they had to do was not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In order for it to be a true relationship between God and man or anybody, there has to be a choice. It's not exactly punishment that we die because of their action. A lot of it is inevitable consequence. Adam and Eve were with life, and apart from life is death.

There is nothing else. The action of Adam and Eve effectively separated them from life. Hey, here's an oxygen hose for you to be able to breath underwater. But don't unscrew it because you'll die if you do. But you unscrew it anyway and cut yourself off from life. Now how is that somebody else's fault? Well, that's what Adam and Eve did. They cut themselves off from life. And apart from God, who is life, there's nothing else but death. And a day will come when death won't even be the alternative to God. It'll be something much worse and eternal. And there won't be enough Preparation H in the world to give your relief from that eternal booty burn. So now, corruption and death is here and God will remove it. And the ones who will inherit the new Heaven and new Earth are the ones who chose to trust His way, those who understand that God is not at fault for what breaks our heart. He may use what breaks our hearts, but he's not the cause of heartache. Those who understand that, yes, we live in a world where things can make your life miserable and even end your life. We can't live in Heaven in our state. The flesh can't exist there, we're corrupted. It'd be like throwing a salt water fish into fresh water. God's not cruel or ignoring you when a loved one is inflicted and even dies from that affliction. Do you want God to just keep healing that person so they can keep repeating a life-threatening affliction? How many times would you want somebody to go through that suffering? That's all the world can offer, and it's gonna get worse. People say, "What kind of god allows stillborn babies "or children to die of hunger and disease?" They or you weren't meant to be born in a world like this. But God doesn't just promise life, He is the promise of life. So, once He thought of you, you were coming. We were supposed to enter existence in paradise. Mankind chose to change that. Now, people come into existence conceived in rape, incest, out of wedlock, born with disease, aborted, born into poverty or to cruel parents, et cetera. But God is the promise of life. You were thought of, so you were coming. And unfortunately, we had to enter existence in a corrupt world, instead of the paradise God initiated for us. So now, here's a few other reasons why God doesn't heal people as you wish. The Lord has already told us that the unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the holy spirit. Basically, when you witness a miraculous healing and you don't acknowledge the hand of God, but instead say it was some other force, some other intelligence, or try to rationalize it or give any other consideration to anything else but to God, then that's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. It means that God has given you proof and a direct answer, and in the form of what you desire most, to see someone healed. He proves it and you still don't accept it. What else is there for you that could be done as proof? "Well, what about video, 'Zo? "How come there's no miracles on video?" Because you wouldn't believe it! You would just say they were paid actors or say there was special effects or something. And remember guys, I say this because Jesus already came and proved the denial of people. Remember the man possessed by Legion and how Legion begged to be allowed to inhabit the pigs when Jesus told 'em to get out? And upon Jesus giving them permission, they jumped into the pigs and made the pigs jump into the sea. They witnessed Jesus free a man or two from demons and the people didn't even really thank Him for it. They were made at Jesus and told him to leave. You'd think they'd be so happy to see a person healed. But it's like they didn't even notice. All they cared about were the pigs. Oh, what's the problem? Were the pigs their livelihood? What happened to people before profits? Isn't those men being healed more important than the money? Not only that, Jesus didn't drive the pigs off the cliff, the demons did. But the people weren't mad at the demons, they were mad at Jesus. And people wonder why God doesn't perform miracles for them today. God's like, "Psh, been there, done that." So, when a person is suffering from a debilitating or terminal disease, some people will pray to God. Others will wish them positive vibes or the best of luck. Some will trust in the universe or different spirits or try to rely on their own intellect to rationalize it while all dismiss God as the one who would give or gave the healing. If you can't accept that God was responsible, then you really couldn't accept living with Him eternally. You'll have sentenced yourself to Hell. That's not God saying, "My will be done," that's God saying, "Your will be done." So, what's the meaning here? It means that God healing someone isn't the real act of mercy. If a person is healed, that person is fine. But to those who witnessed it and denied that God had anything to do with it and tried to rationalize it or attribute the inexplicable healing to something else, then God's like, "Even when I gave you proof, "you still deny me." God's like, "Okay, nothing more I can prove to you. "I gotta wash my hands of you. "I can't force you to accept me." And there are so many like this. So, in God's mercy, we don't see miracles because many wouldn't accept it. One person gets healed and five people who witnessed it denied God's hand in it. That's five people who would've walked into Hell with their eyes wide open. So God, in his mercy, would withhold the healing from someone, even if that one person would die from their affliction, to save five people from denying a miracle they witness in dooming themselves to hell. Because, if a person hasn't seen a miracle, they don't have a chance to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, which means they do have a chance at some point in their life to realize who God is. That's how much God does not want anyone to go to Hell. God proved that in having his own flesh ripped off and being hung on a cross so you wouldn't have to go to Hell. We be like, "God, give me this. "God, give me that," as if we forget that Christ gave up His own life to usher us into eternal peace and joy. Sometimes we act like that isn't enough. "He's gotta do more." Now, this doesn't mean that God doesn't bless or perform miracles. It means that your blessing has to be a blessing to others that draws people to Him, not cause people to focus on the blessing and forget or take for granted where it came from. The bottom line is forgetting God or being separate from Him is the problem. So, what does this mean? In order to live in peace, disease-free and paradisiacally forever, we have to look to God? After thousands of years, man has not yielded a better idea, not politicians, not scientists, not Sesame Street. No person or doctrine, aside from what the Lord has authored, is the answer. Hoping this is helping some to clear air a bit about why these negatives exist in our world. Let's explore this further in the next one.
