A group of armed radical extremists continued their occupation of federal facilities in government property today in an effort to draw attention to and redress what they believe are decades of grievances against the United States of America. While the ringleader says he means no harm to the government or to the people, he also says we cannot wait to see the change we believe in. He and his appointed disciples have refused repeated requests that they leave peacefully and said they could stay hunkered down there for up to a year or more. The group's military grade weapons arsenal includes some machine guns, semi-automatic pistols, and large boar shotguns. The group's ringleader never goes anywhere without his highly trained, heavily armed security detail. The top members of his team also travel with similar security measures, including heavily armored transport vehicles. Negotiations and other efforts to dislodge them from federal property are ongoing, but no progress has been made for at least seven years. Republican presidential candidates have called on the radical extremists to stand down, saying that no matter what your grievance, we must follow constitutional processes, law and order must be maintained. Even if the ringleader were to personally withdraw, the group has in place a carefully crafted succession plan that could keep them in place for up to another eight years or more. According to anonymous sources inside the justice department, some members of the radical extremist faction could face federal charges stemming from their years of occupation of federal property. Meanwhile, most Americans can do little more than watch helplessly and perhaps pray that the radical extremists will peacefully depart without doing further damage.
